Accessing ERAS
Obtaining a Remote Desktop Client
To connect to the ERAS server, you'll need to make sure you have the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection installed. Users running Windows XP or Windows Vista do not need to install anything--the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection is already installed by default. Users running Windows 95, Windows 98 and 98 Second Edition, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000 can download the Remote Desktop Connection for Windows. Macintosh users can download the Remote Desktop Connection for Macintosh. If you are using a Linux based box, you'll want to look into using free software such as rdesktop.
Connecting to the Pathology ERAS Server
- Start your Remote Desktop Client. For Windows users, this can be started by going to Start > Run, typing mstsc and then pressing "OK."
- When asked which computer to connect to, enter "c3po.pathology.washington.edu" and press the "Connect" button as shown in the image below:
If you're using rdesktop, open a terminal window and type rdesktop -g 16 c3po.pathology.washington.edu and press "Enter."
- Once connected, a Windows login screen should appear. Enter the username and password that you were provided. If you have forgotten your username and password, you may contact Michelle Rickard at 206-598-4933 or msrme@u.washington.edu.
